Prince of Orange visits Damen Shipyards 

16:35 GMT, January 27, 2012 On Friday 27 January, His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange visited the three yards of the Damen Shipyards Group in Vlissingen.

At Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding the Prince was shown around at two naval vessels under construction, an Ocean Going Patrol Vessel for the Royal Netherlands Navy and a SIGMA Multi Purpose frigate, built for the Royal Moroccan Navy. The Prince was given insight into the facilities, capacity and technical specifications of the vessels and other ongoing naval projects at the naval yard. The Prince then visited the AMELS Shipyard, where he was informed about the long history of the yacht builder and their of high-tech yacht building skills. The tour ended in Vlissingen-Oost at the Scheldepoort Repair & Conversion Yard.

The Damen Shipyards Group is the largest international shipbuilder in the Netherlands with more than 35 shipyards worldwide.
